GAME 77: MAR. 29 2007, Toronto Maple Leafs @ Atlanta Thrashers

Where was the offensive magic we saw two days ago against Carolina? The Atlanta Thrashers played the day before, and lost, while the Leafs had a day off following a win. We should have came out strong, played the body, and been aggressive. Instead we came out slow and sluggish. We got the 1 point, which puts us 1 point behind the 8th seed, but we desperately needed that extra point.
The Maple Leafs were lucky to even get that single point. Down the stretch, every game is important, but this will not be one that we look back at as the cause. The comeback win by Buffalo and the drubbing at the hands of Washington were the games we needed. If we had won those 2 games, everyone would be chasing us instead of being the other way around.
Sundin once again struggles to tie Sittler for the all-time Leafs goal scoring record. If he could get past that hump, maybe we could win some hockey games. It would have been nice against Atlanta, and it would have come with an extra point.
