Predictions for GAME 79: APR. 1 2007, Toronto Maple Leafs @ New York Rangers

We played yesterday, and the Leafs have a slightly sub-500 record in the back end of back-to-back games. However, this is the game in hand we have on the other teams surrounding us in the playoff race.

PS2 Preview on MapleLeafs.com - 2-1 Maple Leafs, Player of the Game: Alex Steen

I don’t see this outcome happening. I think there will be a few more goals than the PS2 Preview said there would be. Alex Steen is capable of scoring, but he hasn’t been able to capitilize on chances recently.

MapleLeafsBlog.com Prediction - 3-2 Maple Leafs, Player of the Game: Andrew Raycroft

The defense of the Leafs will have another strong game. Hal Gill will be all over Jaromir Jagr like a fat kid on a Smartie, keeping the room Jagr needs to make a difference away from him. The last time these teams hooked up, Jagr was ineffective due to strong play by Gill. The Rangers have a lot of other firepower though, and it will be up to Andrew Raycroft to hold the fort for the 2 points.
