Game 15: Leafs vs. Habs; always a great hockey game.

I always look forward to games featuring the Maple Leafs and the Canadiens. They are always great games to watch. They feature close hockey games, great hits, no fights and boos and cheers from fans on both sides. The Canadiens are one of the leagues hot teams right now, so the Leafs have to be on the ball for this game.

The game was barely on and Montreal took a penalty at 0:44 of the first period. Toronto was on their game at took advantage at 1:18, when Kaberle stepped in from the blue line and snapped one past Huet. The rest of the period was fast paced, with both teams getting their chances. Mike Komisarek tied the game before the end though, on a slap shot from the point.

Sundin took a penalty 33 seconds into the second, and Montreal took advantage. They went ahead by one on a goal from Christopher Higgins. But about 4 minutes later, at 6:04 of the frame, Sundin made up for the penalty by tying the game at 2 goals apiece.

The third period was intense. The frame was played fairly tight. Montreal had the shot advantage 10 - 8, but it was the shot by Maple Leaf’s Matt Stajan that counted the most. He skated in on the right wing side, and put the puck on net to skate off on a change. The shot was fairly hard, and fooled Cristobal Huet. The Leafs held on to the 3-2 lead and finished the game and cooled down the red-hot Canadiens.
