So far on this road trip, the Maple Leafs have a possible 2 our of 4 points. These next two games, starting with the hated Ottawa Senators and finishing with the Buffalo Sabres, are going to be tough. There are people out there predicting the Leafs to keep this game close, and possibly have a chance of winning it. The previous game against the Canadiens have given people hope that our Maple Leafs may have turned a corner is this season. This game see’s Kyle Wellwood and Mark Bell return to the lineup for the first time this season. Let’s hope they add something to this team.
Nope.
Same result. Leaf’s were slow and sluggish and could never get anything going. They gave up countless odd-man rushes, over and over again, and did not help Toskala out too much. It’s obvious the Leafs are nowhere near the Senators level. Mark Bell and Kyle Wellwood did not factor into the game at all. It’s understandable and I will give them a few games to reach a decision on their play. What I don’t understand is why did Wellwood get 17:27 of ice time? He just came off an injury… why wouldn’t someone else get a few more minutes?
So now that makes 2 out of a possible 6 points for the Leafs on this road trip. Let’s see how they do going down the QEW to Buffalo.
