Rumours aplenty surround the Maple Leafs these days

There has been a lot of rumours about the Maple Leafs flying around the media. The main one was that Ferguson tried to fire Maurice, but was stopped by the guys upstairs. If the rumour is true, is tells us a lot about the mentality of the team right now.
1. Ferguson does not have faith in his coach, and is trying to make some last ditch efforts to save his job.
2. The Leafs brass doesn’t care what Ferguson wants to do, and as such, does not have faith in him. They are going to continue to monitor his activities and act as the general managers while Ferguson only retains the title.
So basically… no one has faith in anyone. And they wonder why many Leafs fans have lsot faith in their team? How are we supposed to keep our confidence as fans and continue to cheer for this team when no one on the team has faith in themselves?
The only saving grace here is the fact that Leaf fans love this team no matter what. We don’t love the GM, or the owners, we love the team. The guys on the ice are who we cheer for, and come to see play.
But what do the players think about all this? It’s hard to guess what effect, if any, all this has on the players. What would you think if your ‘bosses’ didn’t have faith in any of their ‘managers’? Personally, I wouldn’t want to work for the ‘company’ anymore.
If MLSE does not get their act together, players are not going to want to come to Toronto, and this team will see the bottom of the league’s standing for way too long.
