Game 42: Leaf bombardment not good enough

Bombardment is putting it lightly. The Maple Leafs ended up shooting a total of 56 shots on net during the course of this game. And once again, it was the oppositions backup goalie that faced the Leafs… and stopped most of the shots.

In the end it was Philly that came out victorious. An early 2 goal lead after the first period was almost insurmountable for the Leafs, as Antero Niittymaki stood on his head in head. Sundin got the Buds on the board in the third, and actually tied the game, by scoring 2 goals.

But here we go again, right? With only a few minutes to go in the game, Philly tallies a power play marker and the Leafs lose… once again.

Raycroft actually played quite well in this game, and Colaiacovo was injured again, but hopefully only for the 7 to 10 days specified by team officials.

Now a small west coast trip. Hopefully the sun will spark something in this team. If it does not happen soon, all is lost for this season.
