Raycroft finally gone from Toronto

Well the time has come. Fans have wanted this for the long time now. Andrew Raycroft was placed on waivers on Tuesday (June 24), along with Kyle Wellwood. The Leafs have since decided to buy out the last year of his contract, completely severing the tie.
Raycroft came over to the Leafs via a trade with Boston that saw Tuukka going the other way. In his first season in the Blue & White, he posted a record of 37-25-9, tying the Leafs record for most wins in a season (Belfour). But even that season was disappointing. Raycroft then followed that with a record of 2-9-5 the following season. Simply awful.
With Toskala in the net for the foreseeable future, Raycroft had no place to go. He makes too much money for a backup ($2.2M), and quite frankly, too much money for his skill level. I don’t think there is a single fan out there, save his parents, that are truly sad to see him go.
Farewell!
